Totoya Auris navigator: can't see anything at all on the screen when it's sunny

I bought a second hand Toyota Auris (2013) and have updated the maps for the navigator. It works fine but when it's very sunning and bright the screen is totally unreadable. Is there some tool or something I could use to limit the amount of light that basically covers the screen of the navigator? Otherwise at the moment it's useless during the day. I would like to buy something for this but have no idea of what to look for.

Any suggestion much appreciated. Thanks

Depends where the screen is located, but how about something like this?

Can you give me the link to that page so I can see if they mention the dimensions etc? But that looks exactly like what I had in mind.

BTW this afternoon I increased the brightness to the max and it does help quite a bit, although it's not optimal, so I'd like to try one of this gadgets as well.

Are you in the UK? That’s where that came from. But if you Google Atomos hood they come in a few different sizes.
