I recently took the plunge and JB my 16 Gig Ipod touch with Ziphone. What can I do to fix it. For the most part it seems to work OK. I have some flashing screen issues with iphysics. but my biggest complaint is that any website i go to in Safari wont save my login info. i.e. any time I go back into igoogle, i have to re-login. can someone help.

ive also noticed that mine "resets" and looses all my bookmarks, and history, but beyond that, it rembers passwords and cookies....

Solution:

Rename the /var/mobile/Library/Cookies dir to /var/mobile/Library/Cookies.orig, or .old or whatever to keep it safe.

You must Kill Safari. Hold the Home button for at least 5 seconds, or respring your Touch. Safari will now save your passwords.

Huh, but will it keep history, and bookmarks?

Maybe try the same thing for /var/mobile/Library/Safari/Bookmarks.plist and ...History.plist.

Actually, this didn't work for me on the cookies. Neither did messing with the permissions, unless I just haven't hit the right setting, yet.

Soon as my hackontosh is up and running, i am going to restore, and see what the deal is
(lepord takes WAY to long to install) on a pc:p
I think mine is just screwed up, from some fluke. it just randomly shut off on me a few hours ago, no reason.

worked for me , thanks a lot! Now can someone tell me what I need to copy off of my ipod to save the network WEP keys and stuff. My work has like a 40 character WEP key that they won't give me, so every time I mess with my ipod I have to ask them to re-enter it.

Forgive my stupidity but how do i do this?

SSH I'm sorry but i don't know what that is. I pretty much just started with this.

I have windows not a mac.

download a ftp program (first one in google can't vouch for it)
http://www.smartftp.com/

in open connections you should find a connection protocol called ssh or maybe ssh secure file transfer.

open this connection protocol type and type in your touch's ip address (found in settings wifi, click on your wireless connection name and this is where you will find your ip)

the user name is root and the password is alpine, once you make this connection then you navigate to the file as listed in this post.

don't be offended, but this will only work AFTER you jailbreak your touch.

example of input:

server: 192.168.1.1
username: root
password: alpine

do i do this on my ipod touch? I'm not offended i am a complete newbie when it comes to this

Thanks for the fix.

Solution posted by dagored worked for me.

I was getting ready to go back to 1.1.3 and restore|jailbreak all over again to have this feature back. (Still may if there isn't a terminal password fix soon )

I was never able to manually get this done. But someone wrote a fix for the "cookie problem". It is called 1.1.4 cookie fix. You could search for that or a repo called Apple Daily Times.
