Is there any way to keep the touch bar awake on the MacBook pro? I use it often for numerous things and I get tired of it going to sleep while my computer screen and keyboard are still active and not in sleep mode, locked, closed, in screen saver mode, or shut down. I don't want to have to guess or hit some random button up top to get the touch bar back on so that i can see what I'm pressing.

I am currently on the newest 2019 16" MacBook pro with the very latest installation of MacOS Catalina.

I mean, I could *slightly* understand if my keyboard wasn't lit up, but when I always have my keyboard light on at least one notch can I at least have my touch bar on. play, forward, backward, volume buttons, screen and keyboard brightness etc. are pretty important buttons to be able to see. At least I have a solid escape key now.

smh Apple, Apple

To add, whats going on with these media buttons? Is there any way to get them to ONLY work for
media apps? if Im watching a youtube video or have my screen on firefox in youtube, I dont need play button to play the currently shown video. I need it to play iTunes like it used to do. If I want to play the video showing on you tube I can click play, hit the screen, or the spacebar, I don't want my media buttons controlling things outside of my media players.

It's been this way since High Sierra, and I personally find it annoying. I don't want to have to remember/guess the last app that was playing to know what the media keys will do. Luckily, there is a fix in the form of Mac Media Key Forwarder, which mostly works as you want. It seems to work in Catalina and with the Touch Bar. Not sure if there is a solution for the Touch Bar sleeping.

corrected to 16"
I'll look into your advice. thanks!

this and the inability to edit see, add and remove playlists when "manually managing" music are the worst changes to me
