Touch Bar Usage for Developer?

Seems all the demo on touch bar usage are for media, what it is actually useful for me as a developer except the Touch ID?

I'm trying to find a reason to convince myself to fork out the extra money for the Touch Bar.

can develop apps for others to use ... other than that key shortcuts ( cmd + * ) are faster and easier than looking down on the touch bar

Well if you want to develop apps with touch bar functionality then I'd imagine it will be essential. You'll also have to check out and see if there are any Xcode updates due that use it if you are an iOS developer.
