It seemed a tad slower to me all night while at work. Just got home and decided to test it against my wife's iPhone that is still on 8.4.1

Using the iOS 9 that was released to the public yesterday, the touch ID is about half second slower than it is using 8.4.1

I think that's apples to oranges (too many variables).
  1. Restart both phones
  2. Delete all fingerprints
  3. Fill up all fingerprint slots identically
  4. Retest
Then we have an apples-to-apples comparison (no pun intended).

no its definitely slower, how about I just install iOS 9 on both phones and test it that way. then it would be apples to apples.

If iOS 9 made it 50% slower and it's 50% faster on the new hardware, then it'd still only be 75% of the original speed
Haha. True. Didn't even occur to me.

Fractions brah

but do they mean 50% faster than the original speed or the current speed :p

With that said, I am seeing no different in 8.4.1 and 9.0 in relation to touchID speed. The phone overall does feel slightly, and I mean slightly, more sluggish (iPhone 6).

however , safari on ios 9 with a content blocker installed is significantly faster...I'll take the trade off.

Holy crap, I just deleted and re-added my fingerprints. Something I've had to do ever three or four weeks because my iPhone just doesn't like to be touched apparently and it was hugely faster.

The setup process didn't fail once, even with my left forefinger which has a couple of scars on it and would fail four or five times before it picked it up.

They must've done something with the scanning in iOS 9 because TouchID has worked maybe 60% of the time in iOS 8 but it has yet to miss a beat since re-adding in iOS 9.

just a tad slower, you have a 6 running 8.4.1 right next to a 6 running 9.0 to compare it to? I'd take a video but only got 2 phones.
