I'm not sure if this will help you at all, but sometimes my 6S seems to drain battery rather quickly and sometimes it gets warm while doing so. Restarting it alone didn't seem to fix anything.

What seemed to help the battery drain, for me, was to quit all applications, all of them running in the background. When there's nothing running, I turn the phone off, wait a few seconds and turn it back on. The things go back to normal.

I encounter this problem once or twice a month and so far that process helps. I hace no idea why that happens. I suspect I probably have a misbehaving app somewhere.

Have you taken your iPhone to an Apple Store to have them diagnose the problem?

no i checked my phone from non apple store ...apple store always swap to phone to charge some amount ,,,
so its hardware problem i know

OP i read in another forum that it was the touch ID causing the problem so if you disable the home button, battery works fine, i have the same issue with Iphone 6 and they want me to sell the damn phone !

I bought a used 6s with a shattered screen and home button.

A local repairman replaced both with non-Apple parts.

After the repair, the battery would drain in 8hrs with the phone on, even if I didn't use it at all.

The repairman took the screen off and the A9 (black square towards the top of the phone) was too hot to touch, even on standby.

The repairman tried 5 different home buttons in case the part was defective, but nothing changed.

What fixed it was to get a new 3rd party home button from a "different factory".

Right now the phone has been on standby for 16 hours and the battery is still at around 90%.

Same issue here with an old 5S. The original home button apparently got damaged when transferring it to a new display: Button itself is still functional but TouchID is broken. Tried reseating the connector, hard resetting the phone, done a full factory restore, but nothing changed. Can't see any obvious damage to the flex cable or electronics, but I have to assume it's dead.

It's not a big deal, but the phone started draining its battery since it lost TouchID (about 10% per hour on standby). Swapping in an aftermarket home button I had lying around didn't change anything, TouchID is (obviously) still broken and the battery still discharges way too fast. Disconnecting the home button stops it, so it's obviously caused by the home button / TouchID.

I've disabled TouchID in the settings and even tried restoring the phone doing a setup from the scratch, but nothing worked so far. Only solution I've found on the internet is jailbreaking the phone and killing the TouchID service, but I guess that's not possible on 11.4.

So is there anything else I could do? Any reliable source for an home button replacement without this issue (or will this happen on every 5S with broken TouchID?).

Don't want to waste too much time on a 5S, but it's still working perfectly fine beside this issue, so I don't want to throw it away. Wanted to keep it as "backup phone".

It's an older thread, but i'm in the same situation and super curious about the mention of using jailbreak and killing the TouchID service! Any idea where I can find that info / how to do this?
I'm definitely up for it as nothing else stops the battery drain on the Ipad with TouchID.
Thanks so much!
