Serious question here about the touch ID control and I'm wondering that I use both my right and left hand and both thumb and index finger to hit the home button. Really no reason but I use multiple fingers and thumbs. How is this going to work. I read it takes readings from different angles of one finger to read. Great but seriously how about 4 fingers and how is that going to read that for one person . ME

I know it sounds funny but pick up your phone and think about it as you almost never use just one finger. Out of pocket , off table and all kinds of situations that you will hit that home button will not always be the same right hand index finger for example. I'm not stressing over it but wondering about our limitations as a user that we will face. Any links that fully describes what I am asking

There is a 5 finger limit for phone. You will have to use 4 of the 5 slots to have your right index, right thumb, left index and left thumb (Like what I am planning)

Anyone going to use 4/5 fingers for themselves and let their spouse have a finger that can unlock it?

AFAIK is a 10 finger limit; also they all don't have to be yours.

I am not sure what you are asking exactly - but I read somewhere that you can store 5 fingerprints, so thumb and index on both hands and one bonus finger.

When you set it up you press down multiple times with different parts of your finger, so it should work fine as long as you move your finger around during setup.

Okay so lets say its5 that works out pretty good. I was under the impression of 5 different people but was not sure how many fingers one could use.

Lol do we have too.

show me where?

I heard 10 when a someone was reviewing the 5S on keynote day. Haven't read anything about 5.

I also red a review from demo day and it said 10 but I can't seem to recall which sight, nor find it again. Damn.

I've heard 5. I think that's also what it says in the sheet given to employees regarding the iPhone 5S and the use of touch ID.

I hope one day they enable you to directly open different apps with specific fingers like CrucialTec's solution allows.
