Touch ID on an iPad

Good morning
Is it possible to use “Magic Keyboard with Touch ID” with an iPad, using external monitor, in clamshell mode.

I can use the passcode, but it doesn’t wake up properly, many times i have to open the iPad to unlock it.
obviously Touch ID is way more better.

What other options do I have ??? Watch app to unlock iPad ??

Yeah I’ve been reading up on this, and i can’t seem to find a work around.

My iPad is mostly calm shell mode, and its a pain to reopen it up to wake/log in.

They should have something similar to wearing the watch proximity log in.

The best option is to replace my iPad with a mac, but I’m very reluctant to do that just now.
