Do you think in the future Touch ID will be able to be used by other apps that require a password? Banking apps etc etc?

Eventually, yes. I don't believe Apple has enabled the necessary APIs in iOS 7 for 3rd party developers yet. I'm sure they want to make sure it works well in the iOS first.

I hope so, this is the one area that had annoyed me about smartphones.

I think Touch ID will appear in Macs, as written by someone at computerworld. it makes so much sense in conjunction with Find My Mac.

Pretty soon you will be able to use touch ID to tap into your brain power and no longer look at your phone to do anything. It will read your mind through your fingerprint and do anything you want it to.
