Hi everyone,

I received my 14 Pro Max two days ago and one thing I noticed is that the touch screen is unresponsive sometimes. What I mean: Sometimes I try to tap on a button in an app and it doesn't register on the first touch. Or when someone makes a carousel post on Instagram and I try to swipe to the next photo, the swipe doesn't get registered on the first try.

I don't yet know if it's only in certain apps or not and I don't know whether it's software or hardware related.

Anyone else also experiencing this?

I have experience this as well very infrequently. I haven’t been able to notice any pattern or specific apps, but it is happening so sporadically so it hasn’t really bothered me too much as of now. Had my phone a week

Thanks a lot for the response. Makes me a bit relieved that I'm not the only one with this issue 😅 I hope it's "only" software related so that it can be fixed with an update.

I hope so too! If it keeps happening or gets more frequent it will eventually become a problem!

Hey guys,

happened to me mainly on the Home Screen, when I try to swipe down to invoke the search menu or launch an app.
happened also in the YouTube app when try to minimise down a video.
i noticed that if I try to go very quick in a sequence like opening an app, swiping up to close it and launching another app there is a higher chance of an unregister input.
I noticed then that there is a little time frame until when you can interact with your screen again.
i guess this is software with iOS 16 animation timing.
let’s see how it goes with the next updates, as it is announced that tooooons of bugs will be solved...

Not sure if it’s my imagination but the other party always seems to end a phone before me. Meaning pressing the red hang up button on screen perhaps isn’t responsive.

I’m also experiencing this on my 14 PM, and it is very frustrating. It’s very random. I’m not thinking it’s a hardware fault, though, because the home bar and notifications and control center pull-down work, without fail, all the time.

I have actually noticed a couple times when trying to pull down to see notifications it won’t let me pull down from the middle of the dynamic island, I have to pull down from the sides for it to work. Only happened about two times though

I’m so glad it’s not just me. It’s sporadic so I can’t identify a cause. But I’ve had this happen over the years on other iPhones. I think it’s iOS.

I did notice now on the Amazon Prime video app I can no longer click on the reviews to see them. Very annoying!

iOS 16.0.3 just got released. The changelog doesn't mention anything regarding our issue but I still hope for the best!

I’m glad to have come across this thread. Lately I’ve been having some touch screen issues in my iPhone 14 and thought there was something wrong with my phone. Hoping the next update fixes this.

It happens on my ipp14 max since launch day. It’s most noticeable when typing, especially space and backspace keys. I don’t think it’s hardware because most of the time it works fine.
