A couple days ago I kissed the sidewalk and my iPhone 7 screen cracked. Being a month out from the new phones I took it to a 3rd party repair shop for new screen to save $30. Since then the screen locks up once a day and I have to do a soft reset (home + volume down) to get it working again.

It could be coincidence or not but the times I've noticed this happening I was at the ballpark and had the MLB Ballpark app open with my game ticket showing. I never had this issue before the new screen

Any guess as to if this is the app causing this or a bad screen? Do the official iPhone screens have validation chip in them that would cause this to happen?
