Lately my touch strip has randomly started going black, and I can't get it to light up. It still responds to my touch but I have to guess where on the strip to touch it, because it won't light up! I did some research, and some people have luck holding down the fn key to get it to relight, but that doesn't work for me. Restarting computer seems to be the only trick. Is there a setting or something? Anyone else experiencing this?

That's a new one to me, that it stays dark even with the function key press, but still works. You running the latest OS? Any unusual software? Might need to try resetting SMC (maybe NVRAM for good measure), and if that doesn't work, booting in safe mode or a clean install.
