So I live in the boonies where AT&T doesn't work, and am replacing my PDA. I was going to get the ipod touch, but like the camera option of the phone(and am surprised it is the same price). Which would be better as a PDA the touch or phone without phone service (I usually use wifi)

iPhone = $2000 spread over 2 years, iPod = $230-400 all at once.

yeah but the iphone is so much cheaper, so unfair

See my above comment. There is no way to get the iPhone without the contract, so it's not cheaper. It's nearly 10 times the cost. Really, I promise, don't be fooled by the clever marketing.

Go to ebay and look for someone selling their V1 iPhone. Most are selling for $199 or less, from people who upgraded to the new 3G phone. The only thing you won't have on them is phone service, but the camera should work fine.
