Long story short, I went from an iPhone Air to a 17 Pro and now I’m back with the 17 Pro Max. Coming from a 15 Pro Max I just couldn’t get used to the smaller display on the Pro and the Air ultimately had too many compromises with the camera system being the biggest. I have 2 children so those close up sports shots with the telephoto lens was missed, more so than the .5 uw lens but that was another compromise I couldn’t get past.

I loved the way the iPhone Air felt in the hand and how light it was but in a weird way it almost felt too thin. I wouldn’t mind if Apple actually made it 1 mm thicker and included and extra camera with a .5 uw and telephoto lens. It would still be incredibly thin but have an improved camera system and better battery. I actually find the 17 Pro Max even though it’s bigger and heavier than the Air to be more comfortable to hold naked in the hand. The extra weight of the 17 Pro Max also (to me at least) makes typing on it easier.

The iPhone Air is a wonderful phone and I hope Apple keeps it in the lineup and improves upon it. Like I said, even if Apple had to make it slightly thicker and heavier to incorporate a telephoto and uw lens I’d be the first one in line for it. Ultimately, the 17 Pro Max has everything I want in a phone, big beautiful display with amazing battery life and a camera system that has no compromises. Is it the easiest phone to carry around? No, but I feel the pros outweigh the negatives. Until we meet again iPhone Air. 👍
