In the Apple Keynote today, they said that the 16 has the "toughest ceramic shield ever". Does that mean that it's even more scratch prone than before? I have heard that you an only optimize for either not cracking or not scratching. I never drop my phone (yet), but I can get micro scratches which I hate.

Why not use a screen protector? Most people do, which I guess is why they optimize for shatter resistance. The displays have gotten a lot more prone to scratches in recent years in my experience and they end up looking really rough if you don’t use a protector. But I’d rather that with a protector than cracked.

I tried 2 different brands on my 15, but both noticeably decreased the touch sensitivity. Especially near the edges. I don't know if it's because of the curved edges in the 15? I've never had the issue with any previous model.

That was my thought first thing after hearing those lines.

My wife took out her screen protector from 15PM to catch the deep scratch again in couple weeks. Previously she scratched 14PM on day 3 after release. So i believe it should scratch now just from the looks.

That’s really strange, I haven’t had this experience at all. I use some off-brand 9H glass and it’s perfectly fine

Use Spigen’s screen protector. My partner has an iPhone 15 and she uses that brand and there is no effect on visual clarity or sensitivity.
