Does anybody have any tower defense games that they can recommendation? I searched through the app store and they're so many that's it's really hard to truly gauge what's good and what's not. Also, I couldn't figure out how to specifically filter for only tower defense games so instead of going through a couple thousand game sand reviews, can anybody give me some quick recommendations?

I did see:
Plants vs Zombies
Tower Defense: Lost Earth
BioDefense: Zombie Outbreak
Jelly Defense

Do you recommend any of these or can you provide your own recommendations?

Plants vs Zombies is incredibly fun. It's simple to play and not incredibly difficult. It's a great intro to the genre. I've played through it twice and am now on the prowl for something else, so great timing on the thread!

Tower defense lost earth!!!!!!!! That game is tons of fun. For me and a few buddies we just couldn't stop playing it (at work lol).

Can't go wrong with Plants vs. Zombies too, you should get both :)

I like Sentinel 2, but I hear Sentinel 3 is out now.

I ended up getting Sentinel 3 and it's an awesome game. I looked at all of the recommedations and they all looked good but Sentinel 3 looked different and the graphics looked awesome. Plus it was also usable between the iPad and iPhone 4s and it was priced right. So far, I'm having a lot of fun with it and even on the normal setting, it's def a challenging game.

Plants vs. Zombies (it's sold a zillion copies for a reason)
Anomaly (as stated before it's a reverse tower defense and puts a fresh spin on it. and it's done very well)
Dungeon Defenders (if you have an IP4S. tower defense + RPG level up)
Tower Defense: Lost Earth
EW TD Pro (maybe my favorite. EXCELLENT graphics and great tower upgrades)
GunsNGlory (very fun and the spin on this is you can move the "towers". basically you have a bunch of wild west cowboys and indians and they are your towers. you move them strategically during the match and spend money to recruit more. fun and a new spin)

I've got to say the first ever game I downloaded for my iPhone was blooms lite. Since then tried them all. I'd suggest trying the lite versions and just seeing if they fit your preferences. I've downloaded a few which had great comments all the way through, paid for it, then didn't end up liking it hehe.

I have loads but the ones I keep on the phone are:

7cities
Fieldrunners
iBomber Defence
Sentinal 3
Geo Defence swarm
The Creeps
Bloons TD4
GunsNGlory
Jelly Defence
Vector TD
iTD Pro

Plants Vs Zombies is epic, not sure I would class it as a TD game

I love Plants vs Zombies, Tower Defense HD and Fieldrunners.

Can anyone tell me why the hell they have not updated Fieldrunners with Retina Display support yet? Unless I am missing a new version that had to be purchased.

as with many people here, i'm going to say Plants vs. Zombies and Fieldrunners. Both incredibly time consuming ;)
