Tower Signal stronger on 1st gen phone

Just got back from apple store and went ahead bought 16 gig white phone...My bro stated his was major fast with no problems...Right off the bat my 1st gen has 4 bars and new Iphone has 1 maybe two on the tower??? That is not good could result in more dropped calls...

Screen is way yellow like many have described and Apple stated they would trade mine out tom so will see....

Would 3 gig signal be different on strength than edge??

My 1st gen also seems to move quicker switching back and forth between apps

so its not that its stronger, but more than edge has more coverage by default than 3g. Certain areas of lower signal bars will automatically default the phone to edge.

But also if you were to look at frequency spectrum of edge vs 3g........... edge should have a case.
