iPad TPU and plasticky cases, worried about scratching.

Hello! I need to get a case ASAP very quickly, I have just purchased an ipad air and don't want to use it without a case.

I'm thinking screen protector+TPU for now and maybe Smart Cover and a different TPU or a smart case (probably not apple brand later).

I had a plastic case a while ago for one of my phones and I told myself id never do it again, I removed the cover from the phone and the finish was scratched off thanks to the crappy low quality case, I don't want that again.

So again wondering if this case will scratch and crap and if this combo will work well. Originally I was looking for a rear skin but I don't know if I want to go through all that trouble to stick adhesive skin on the back and get the back all wet etc. so I thought a TPU might be better.

It's not the case that's scratching. It's the grit that gets in between.

Oh. I haven't had a chance to hold it in real life yet. Best buy had a hard back belkin plastic case that was like 30 dollars, that's not TPU right?

Actually just realized I need a case for the back that works with a Smart Cover. Is this good or can someone recommend me one or something? Again I want a case that won't scratch.

I should have just gotten the belkin case when I was at best buy, I hate to have to use the air naked.

Hard plastic is not tpu and hard plastic will scratch.

Get in ebay. Plenty of cheap tpu there.

Tech21 makes a tpu case with shock absorption for the iPad Air, the only place I've seen it is the Apple Store. Picked one up in smoke with a Smart Cover they work great together.
