Are there any good applications (free or not free) that are able to track my iphone location that are very very accurate. I'm going back to school in the fall and in anticipation of it being stolen at a party while im passed out i would like to be able to find the culprit and kick his ass.

any recommendations?

doesnt find my iphone require a mobile me subscription? and isnt that $100 a year? That's pretty expensive...

Nope, I've been able to utilize MobileMe on all (5) iPhones on my account without any additional fees...

i dont really understand. You can score the software on ebay for $60 or whatever and not have to pay any yearly fees...but if you go through apple you get the software for free but its $100 every year to use it?

Is this accurate?

edit - also, why in the world do you have five iphones?

When you purchase the MobileMe Family Pack for $149 or $65, you can activate all (5) accounts and Apple doesn't know how much you paid for it. As long as you have the activation code right out of the box, you are good to go. I have two iPhone 4 (my wife & I), two iPhone 3GS (our son and his wife) and one iPhone 3G (my sister-in-law) on my family plan...

I have FIVE iPhones, because "I CAN!" lol (j/k)

so if my iphone is stolen, i will be able to track it via my macbook using mobile me?

also, it doesnt make sense that you can avoid the yearly fee. the activation code will give you a year subscription...but you are going to have to renew your subscription after a year...

On eBay I saw MobileMe Family being auctioned, and some of them specified a model number. Some had different model numbers. Does anybody know if there is any difference in the software packages with different numbers, or is it that different model numbers have different expiration dates for activation?

Yup. You would just have to log onto me.com to track it. You need to make an account, and add it onto your iPhone just as you would add a GMail account. Once you've done that, edit the settings on it in Settings -> Mail -> MobileMe -> Track my iPhone 'On.'

can anyone confirm that if i purchase mobileme on ebay i wont have to pay any yearly fees?

Actually you can track your iPhone on Mobile from any computer, it doesn't need to be an Apple. I've done it from my iPad and from my nephew's PC computer as a demo.

Im thinking that $65.00 is for the first year..after that your going to have to pay the regular rates.
Or buy a different $65.00 plan
