hey guys,

when ever i double tap and hold to drag something on my MBP running lion, it doesn't work... it used to... the tap to click option is selected in the settings menu, and it works fine on my mothers identical MBP... double tap to click works fine too... any thoughts?

Did you check the settings in:

System Preferences -> Universal Access -> Mouse & Trackpad -> Trackpad Options

The relevant setting is [x] Dragging (with Drag Lock)

YaY! Double TAP/DRAG Works!

I am so glad I found this thread! :D I updated from LEOPARD to Mountain Lion, and thought the 'tap/drag' option was just removed--for some obscure reason! Grrrr. (Like the four-finger swipe to show open apps...?)

Although, virtually the same as thundersteele--thank you!--explains, the sequence I followed was:

System Preferences-->Accessibility-->Mouse and Trackpad-->Trackpad Options-->
Enable Dragging (check box)-->With Drag Lock (choose option)

Hope this helps! ;)
