Track Pad to Enlarge Photo's and Text?

I use to be able to move my thumb and first finger in opposite directions on the track pad to enlarge what ever was on the screen be it text or photos. To return to original size I simple move my thumb and finger back together. This no longer works? Any assistance appreciated.
I have a MacBook Pro which is two years old.

Check the pinch to zoom option is checked in the trackpad settings:
