track your 17" MBP Unibody FEDEX flight

has anyone tried this yet?

I am figuring out what fedex flight # my mbp is on...

Fedex says that it left shanghai, china as of Mar 3, 2009 at 12:11pm, not sure if that time is local to me or to china... If that date/time is local to shanghai then that means the plane left at about Mar 2, 2009 @ 10pm (CST). I am estimating.

I cannot seem to find a fedex flight # that matches with the departure time shown on fedex's website... I am guessing it is flight FX92. Since that is the only one that shows up.

can someone help me...

PVG (Pu Dong International Airport in Shanghai) to arrive in ANC (Anchorage, Alaska)
 
Nevermind. I did some further research and believe it's on fx90. This flight isn't show up in the system last night but now it's there. According to my calculations. That flight will land in anchorage Alaska at 11:56am local time to Alaska. Which means in roughly less than an hour! I am pretty confident this is the flight with those who've ordered the 17 mbp at around feb 26 give or take a few days.
 
FX may have more than 1 flight out of PVG. FX 90 does only KANC - VPVG flights it appears, whereas FX 92 does VPVG - KANC - KMEM. Its difficult to ascertain which specific flight your MBP is on - although I have to admit, this is the first I have seen someone try to actually find out the flight their mbp is on. A whole new dimension to the term "notebook enthusiast".
 
I am correct! I just checked fedex site to track my order. And it shows that it just scanned it at anchorage alaska! Which matches with the flight f90x using that website to track the planes! Next stop f90x is going to Memphis tenessee.

Great! :D You should be getting your MBP soon. Are you sure FX90 goes on to KMEM? Check if its still an MD11 operating that route and check the reg. From the data it seems FX92 is the flight that proceeds on to KMEM from ANC.
 
I think the shipment goes to Indianapolis

I'm on the same pallet as you, and being a nerdy, neurotic compulsive, I checked flights out of Anchorage today (on Flight Stats), and it appears the only thing coming east is a flight departing 2.07p ANC->IND.

Either way, my new MBP's on its way! :cool:

Look at that. It just left Anchorage, Alaska at 2:59pm (AKST) on it's way to Memphis, Tenessee. Will arrive at 11:58PM (CST)!

plane just entered US borders! Over montana now! :) 2 hrs left til it lands in Memphis!
 
I doubt its actual flight tracking, its more likely to be delayed by at least 15 mins if it is real, and its even more likely just to be a projected take off and landing time with a real time line along expected route programmed to appear in between.

If it was actually live it could be used by terrorists etc not to mention be breaking international laws.
 
We part ways...

Mine didn't get scanned in Anchorage until 4.57p local time; unless it was literally one of the last cargo boxes on the plane, it didn't leave Anchorage today. Flight to Memphis left @ 5.09p, flight to Oakland @5.18p.

Still scheduled for 3/5 morning delivery, though....Anchorage isn't *that* far away, after all!

Actually the delay is only a couple of minutes (i.e. <5 minutes) and it is live tracking. In fact during descent and climb, you will actually see FL and alt changes if you keep refreshing the page. Many pilots use this tool while waiting for an incoming flight, etc.

Also, if you guys are so inclined (which you seem to be :p), you can track ATC (air traffic control) for your airport (if it supported by the system) and actually hear the pilots of the Fedex plane communicating with the approach, ground, etc.

does anyone know where it goes now? does our mbp load up on FedEX trucks to deliver to all across the US and Canada from Memphis? or is there another flight it catches?

It will generally take about 1 to 2 days to transit from MEM to your location. The wait is almost over....as the famous song goes, "the best is yet to come..."
 
i just checked on the progress [regress] of my mbp shipment - it went from china to AK to newark,nj back to AK ... fedex must have these lines in reverse or surely i hope ... it is supposed to be here on the 5th but if its in newark and coming to freehold it should be here today ... come on fedex stop B-S :rolleyes:

Time Machine MBP

Mine took a different flight, going from Anchorage to Indianapolis (to Boston this morning!). Remarkably, the package was scanned as departing Anchorage a whole hour after the flight departed....

I had a feeling it would be a special machine, but I really had no idea!
 
Wow!

Mine went from the depot to the local sort facility to the truck for delivery (a day early)! Amazing that it went from the factory in Shanghai at 10.34p my time Monday evening to (almost) here in that amount of time, given the logistics of handling the packages....

Love FedEx!

EDIT: Three minutes after I wrote this, it got here!!! Fun time!
 
I woke up this morning to go to my computer to check the status of my shipping, right then and there I noticed the fedex truck outside my window! The timing couldn't been anymore perfect!

Wow, guess what guys. Mine was suppose to deliver tomorrow by 10:30AM. Fedex just rang my doorbell and I got it a whole day earlier! I am so excited! But the bad thing now is I have to leave for work! Today is going to be such a longgggggggggggggg day!!!! :) Wow this is awesome!!!!!!

I hope you guys all get yours soon! I was in for a surprise. Totaly didn't expect it to come in today! Wow!

The last Fedex flight out of KANC was FDX86 to OAK which would make sense since I live south of PDX. But if it didn't get there until 16:52 and FDX86 left at 16:48--not likely it made that plane. But I am still scheduled for tomorrow (10/08/09) by Noon for delivery. Don't get it.
 
memphis...

Hi, I'm new here, and I came across this site after I placed my order. I am so glad I'm not the only one tracking my shipment non-stop! From Shanghai, China on Monday to Anchorage, Alaska to Memphis, TN at 2:18am this morning. It is now 7:12 pm, and my laptop hasn't moved:( It has said "in transit" since 2:37 am, and I'm only 2 1/2 hours away from Memphis! I am so anxious. I hope I get it soon!
