Last year when we got the 3GS, many tracked UPS flights from China to the U.S. with their iPhones on it. Yes... I admit... I was doing it too. But does anyone want to do this again?? We wouldn't be able to start until we get tracking info, but I figured it'd be fun to see what you all think.

Tracking flights of iPhone 4's from China?

heck yea!! barely though. I ordered on apple.com at 9ish, but my order status still shows it being delivered on the 24th.
I had the day off of work so I went to an AT&T store (in NYC mind you, so tons of people) and waited around for THREE HOURS to get my order through, got my confirmation by 2pm EST to be shipped to my house, so I'm totally down to track it from China... HOW though?
pretty much we just have to match our tracking info with fedex flights. so for instance if our tracking info at a certain point says departed .. china at 7:00, then we look for a flight out of there around that time on fedex's airline. then on a flight tracking website, we can see the plane full o' iphones fly closer and closer to their destination. usually they go from china to alaska to the mainland.
On the 24th it will say out for delivery.

YES. And following flights from China.... yea not gonna help the anxiousness. it definitely is a nice time waster on eve of iPhone delivery though
Haha i was guilty of this last year with the 3gs. I was so hyped for it, it was my first iphone so the anticipation was killing me. I'm hyped for this one too as well and will probably track the shipping just cause its fun to do, and knowing i'm not the only one that does it is nice.
You fellas need to get a hobby, or an xbox, or a girlfriend to just kick it with. Watch a movie? Read a book? Wikipedia some cool articles? Documentaries about the universe? Any of those are more productive than watching a little airplane fly over the pacific. I don't even look at that when I'm sitting on an airplane.
Yea last year when we all did it there was a LOT of people on there tracking. We even got an article by a Washington newspaper written about us online. It was actually a lot of fun.
I think once we all start seeing our phones ship is when I will create the actual thread for it. Its good to see people's interest in it.
