My wife is on a 2009 13" MBP running Snow leopard.

I got the trackpad set-up to "tap to click"

The problem is on some websites the tap feature doesn't respond, so when she clicks down, it doesn't respond either. This only happens intermittently on just a couple websites.

Would this be a browser issue? website issue? or hardware issue?

Can you give an example of a website where this happens?
Have you tried another browser?
Could be a hardware issue.

It's a hardware issue that may coincedently happen on random sites, even though the chance it's the site are nil. Seems that it's in the beginning stages of failure which always begins randomly. It's likely to get progressively worse till it quits.

yes, thankfully the machine is covered under applecare.

So far it's only been on two sites - facebook and vistaprint

I was thinking hardware as well. Looks like I'll be making a trip to the apple store.

She uses firefox

while we are talking about this, am I the only one who can't tap to click on their username to login to Lion? It won't respond unless I push the button. I was thinking it happens because my user settings are not yet loaded at that point.
