Trackpad is acting slow, lag, clicking on own

MacBook Pro (2011) and the track pad is clicking, moving, and gesturing on its own. I hooked up an external mouse it is seems to be moving fine, which leads me to believe this is a hardware issue.

Any ideas?

I reset PRAM.

Edit: Set up an appointment for apple Friday.
