Ugh. I recently purchased Snow Leopard to install on my 3-year-old Macbook (I'm still debating about Lion, but that's a whole other story). I installed it and got all the updates possible and initially it seemed fine...perhaps a little slow, for a few days. Then I noticed that things were very, very slow, particularly that Safari freezes everytime I wake up my computer, applications would take over 10 seconds to pull up, and most frustratingly, my trackpad left side would only work after several clicks. I tried to search for more updates and apparently there was a Safari one that was available, but even after installing it there was no change. After a day or two of this I read some suggestions and decided to reinstall Snow Leopard. Now, I can still move the mouse around on my trackpad, but it will not click at all. I am very, very frustrated and worried, and any advice would be appreciated.

Full disclosure: my hard drive, recently and suddenly died a few weeks ago, and I bought a new one from Best Buy (at the suggestion of an Apple employee). Before I had Snow Leopard I went ahead and reinstalled the original Leopard system that came with my computer. Could this have something to do with it?

Thanks very much in advance.
