Hi All

I have a MBP 15,5 with Lion on it
Since a couple of weeks the click of the trackpad doesn't work anymore
I realized that the pointer of the mouse was also moving on its own... do you think it's related?
Can it be a hack?

I also turned off AirPort, and the pointer kept moving (and I was like 1ft away from my MBP, so I definitely didn't touch it)

Thanks a lot!

what is an MBP 15,5?

Maybe your battery is swelling and pressing on the trackpad from below. That could be a reason for the click to stop working.

well in the "System Info" it says MBP5,5 but I'm pretty sure it's the 15,5 model (bought mid 2009)
is there a known hardware failure for these models?

Well, MBP5,5 is a model number, while a MBP15,5 does not exist (yet).

I'm not aware of any very common hardware failures for this model. Either the battery is expanding, or the touchpad just broke. You can take off the bottom cover and have a look at the battery. Or take it to apple.

This might be a long shot, but does somebody else have access to control your Mac? They could be messing with you. Turn off screen sharing and see if the problem continues.

my firewall is on "All ingoing connections blocked" (except core services) and all shared services are turned off
so I'm just being really paranoid I guess
