So I was just cheerily scrolling about in my normal manner when I was needed downstairs so I left my Macbook Pro on my desk. And when I came back up, there was a crack on my trackpad for no reason. HORROR.
It's in the bottom middle of the trackpad. It's not causing any problems (actually it's working better than before; I was having some problems with it not responding/responding when I wasn't actually clicking), and when I run my finger over it I can't feel anything, but I'm worried about using it now. I've seen questions from people with this kind of problem before but I haven't been able to find an answer as to whether it's still safe to use with a cracked trackpad - I don't want to make it worse or break it entirely but I won't be able to get to an Apple store for some time, and even if I do I can't afford to pay for a new trackpad.
Will this be covered under warranty? I've had it about 6 months, and I've not dropped anything on it or spilt anything in the trackpad so I don't know why I'm having so much trouble with it. Like I said, I can't afford a replacement
Considering the fact that it's been malfunctioning for no reason anyway, is it likely that I've just been issued a dodgy trackpad?
Thanks, guys.
