Hi,

I have a PowerBook G4 1.67 and for no apparent reason the trackpad stopped working.

I tried to repair permissions, reset the PRAM and the and PMU.

The first time I tried resetting the PRAM and PMU. The trackpad worked for a little while and then stopped again.

Tried once more the reset process, but it doesn't do it anymore.

Anybodu can help?

When I connect a USB mouse it works fine, but it has no effect on the trackpad.

Once again, for no apparent reason, the trackpad now works partialy or for short periods of time. But it doesn't work smoothly. It jerks or scrolls the window like I was using 2 fingers which I'm not...

Thanks mad jew! The palm thing did it. It is so simple I feel a little bit stupid... How come I never read anything about how to reset the trackpad??? Thanks anyway!:)

this is happening to my brother's ibook, i tried the palm thing and it didn't work... any other ideas..
Thanks
Josh

It's in the user manual, not that anyone reads those things. ;)

You have to buy new upper case. Since I have not idea which 17" G4 you have, I can't specify any specifics.
