trackpad not working properly

So I just bought the 13" basic macbook pro from amazon towards the end of nov. Gave it to my gf as an early xmas present (so she could use it for finals) and everything has been great with it so far. Until last night I get a call stating the trackpad isn't recognizing the two finger swipe left/right anymore. everything else works fine however but the gesture to go back and forth between previous pages is no longer working. any suggestions?

Did she disable it in settings?

no, i had her go back into the settings and uncheck and then recheck those functions to no avail. I also had her restart her computer and that didn't work either.

Yes everything else works

so we figured it out. we were using safari and then i installed firefox onto it and was using that browser. So apparently firefox doesn't recognize that gesture.

Nope, although if I remember correctly Google Chrome does.

It works on Firefox 9 for OSX. I don't know if it's still in beta, or if it was officially released.

Yes you are correct, Chrome does respond to gestures.
