Trackpad on MBP 13

Hey,

Probably a noob question, but I searched the forum and came up dry:
Can the Magic Trackpad work while my MBP 13" is clamshelled? I'm running 2 monitors (one with Thunderbolt to DVI and the other one through USB 2.0) and I can't fit my MBP on my desk anymore so I have been going all external, but I want the trackpad to switch between desktops.

Yes, it can, as it is like any other input device (mouse or keyboard or graphic tablet) and does not care, if you use your Mac in clamshell mode or not.
