The trackpad on my MBA 13" i7 is bothering me. I've made screencasts [1] to *try* and demonstrate how frustrating it gets.

Slow movements version: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FM71ra7avlY
Fast movements: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GLkmqqQpGjw

[1] In the videos I move the cursor, then tap -- all the time repeating this pattern. If the cursor is still, I'm just tapping, waiting for a response, then moving on.

Do you have issues with the trackpad?

None so far with an i5 13" model

I've found that if I click down "physically" on the trackpad, then the response is instant. If I tap there is a delay between the tap being recognised by the system.

To fix this check the options in the screenshot on this article. Solved it for me:

Thanks for this link!! I am elated to have found the way to enable 'tap to drag'. That three finger dragging was drivin' me nuts!!
