I recently bought a 13" MBP'09, may be 10 days back. I have used it for the better part of the 10 days :). Being a new crossover from PC, the features really amazed me, to start with, the trackpad in particular. But I can feel the trackpad response growing sluggish. I have to swipe more than once to be able to switch applications or to scroll. The worst affected is the pinch-based zoom in/out functionality. Are there specific trackpad usage precautions, to make them last longer and be as responsive as new? I am pretty cautious with the dirt btw, that ain't the issue I think.

Help appreciated.

oily fingers and fingernails.Well that affected my "track pad responsiveness" I fall under both.

Sometimes we are so used to those actions we do it using our fingernails without noticing.
