trackpads - wake macbook pro but not macbook

i just got a macbook and noticed that it will not wake from sleep/display-off unless i hit a key, but my macbook pro wakes with a swipe of the trackpad.

am i forgetting a setting somewhere?

I'm pretty sure my macbook doesn't do it either, you should try putting your MBP into a real sleep and not just a semi sleep if that makes sense and shee if it does it.
