I'm trading my baseline 13in MBA (2012) +80$ for a 2.2GHZ Early 2011 15' MBP 4gb ram and 750gb hdd no applecare.

from purely a price stand point is it worth it? Am I breaking even? I just don't want to be at a loss.

Also how fast is the price devaluation for the 2011 MBP at this point?

Thanks!

I personally would only make the trade if no additional item is involved with the two laptops (In your case the 80 dollars).

Here is why:

1) The RAM is the same - Tie
2) 15" has a better processor - Pro
3) The Air is more recent - Air
4) The Air has faster storage - Air
5) The pro has larger storage - Pro

You are trading two very different laptops and the pros and cons of each are about equal in my mind especially with AppleCare still on the air but not the pro.

The 15" Pro will lose value at a higher rate than the air (I am guessing) since the cMBPs are going to be discontinued soon entirely while the 2012 air is a very capable computer for almost any task.
