Hi everyone,
I recently purchased a new MacBook Pro M4 from Apple, which arrived quickly and works fine. As part of the deal, I accepted a trade-in offer for my five-year-old 27" iMac. Apple valued it at €390, which I accepted.
Here’s where the trouble began:
- The first trade-in kit they sent for the iMac was clearly for an iPhone—not nearly large enough for a 27" iMac. I called Apple, they apologized, and promised to correct the mistake.
- The second trade-in kit arrived, and it was once again an iPhone-sized package. I refused delivery, called Apple, and got another apology and another promise.
- The third trade-in kit showed up—still for an iPhone. Meanwhile, Apple emailed me asking if I’d sent in the iMac yet. At this point, I was getting frustrated. I called again, received another apology, and another promise.
- The fourth trade-in kit? You guessed it: another iPhone-sized box.
I’m baffled. Has anyone else experienced something like this with Apple’s trade-in program?
How to proceed?
Thanks and best regards from Germany
