iPhone 11 Pro Trade in help please

My wife and I are on the same T-Mobile account. She has an 8+, while I have the X. I’d like to give her my X and trade in her 8+ when I order an 11pro. Anyone ever tried to do something like this? On the Apple store app, it gives me the option of trading in either, but I’m afraid that if I indicate that I’m trading in her 8+, the 11pro will come set up for her and her phone number, rather than mine.

In case it matters, we don’t use the upgrade program or anything. I always just buy our phones outright, while sometime selling or trading in an old one.

If you order the sim free you should be able to just pop your sim right into it.
