I received my trade-in kit on September 29, I packaged my old phone and dropped it at a FedEx location (with receipt) the same day. Tracking shows it was picked up in the evening.

It’s October 7 now, 8 days later, and tracking number is still showing “In transit”. It seems to be stuck in Sacramento. I’m in San Jose and the trade in is supposed to go back to Elk Grove, which is barely 3 hours away from here.

Anyone else is seeing the same situation? I called Apple 3 days ago, they told me maybe due to pandemic they courier is a little slow?

My trade-in from Alameda to Elk Grove took 2 days (including trade-in inspection and approval), but was via UPS.

Elk Grove is basically a suburb of Sacramento, so might use the same Fedex hub.

Yeah, I've gone through IUP for as long as I remember, it usually was very prompt and never had any issue with the trade-in.

Just spoke with Apple (for some reason, had to be transferred to four different people, each of which I had to explain the whole thing again.. *sigh*), and they filed an escalation ticket to investigate this.

In the meantime, my trade in page shows Apple needs to have the phone back by October 11 (4 days away). We'll see what happens then if this thing still hasn't been resolved. Plus, my CitizensOne loan is showing 'On Hold' with the amount past due. It wouldn't automatically charge my credit card because of that.

I’m in the SF Bay Area and shipped back my replacement 9/30. Last scan was 10/3 departing Tracy, about an hour from Elk Grove, and because there's been no daily scan, FedEx considers the package as lost. Apple has said that I am not liable if this is the case, and they will automatically open up a case on their end in case the phone is not received by the due date

Yup, mine was stuck in Tracy for 3 days, and then in Sacramento ever since. My due date is in 3 days.

My experience is that the due date is when you send it, not when they receive it, i.e., the date it is first scanned by fedex/ups.

I'm getting a little nervous. My iPhone arrived at the trade-in location (Carlisle, PA) via UPS on Tuesday, but Apple tracking does not show it being received yet.

Same here, arrived 10/5 and still no updates

I did the Apple/AT&T $1000/36 month deal.

It took awhile for my trade in kits to arrive, but once they did, I prepped the phones, boxed them up and then dropped them at the UPS store. That was this past Monday.

On Thursday three days later, I got two e-mails from Apple stating that the iPhones both got the full 100% value. Three days more or less!

I couldn’t believe how fast it happened. Now the phones were only going to Texas from Altlanta area, but still they examined them pretty fast I’d say. It’s like they just scanned and then approved them instantly.

Now if the credits start soon, it will be perfect.

Thanks for sharing, perhaps mine are caught up in the trade in surge. I’ve had pretty good success with the Apple trade in kits in the past, it just seem a lot slower this time

I have mailed in my trade in for the last handful of years, yes, it can take weeks to go a few miles. I lived 30 miles away from the location where the trade in went. It took over a week to get there. Yep. It'll happen.

My mail in was received on Monday and I got an email from Apple at 12:30 this morning that everything was processed successfully and the $640 for my 12 Pro will show up within 5 business days.

I just got an update in the Apple Store app that it was received by Trade-In Partner for one of the two phones, hopefully that is good news!

Both were shown in UPS to be delivered to Carlisle PA 10:00 AM on 10/5

Yes at first I only saw one e-mail and thought something happened, then I saw the second e-mail…..

I work for the U.S. Postal Service (former FedEx see my nick) and while we don’t handle Apple stuff that much, I can tell you that it’s going to be crazier this year than last.

People have all this Stimulus and Child tax credit money and they won’t let up on the Amazon stuff.
Last holiday season we could hardly get the Amazon parcel pallets in the building to process.

Here's my trade-in timeline and the whole experience was great!
So I received my two iPhone 13PM's on launch day Sept 24th
Shipped my two trade in 11PM's on Monday Oct 4th
They received and approved the trade-ins for full value of $1000 each on Thur. Oct 7th
and sent me an email confirming this.
Today I got my AT&T informing me of the phone credits that are effective Oct 22nd.
I checked the bill and the credits are there.
So it only took one billing cycle more or less.
