Seeing $155 is currently the maximum possible trade-in value for an AW, yes.

You get little credit for SS or cellular. People buying used AWs want to spend as little as possible, else they would buy new.

For example, my aluminum GPS-only S5 has a trade-in value of $85. Your SS cellular S7 value is only $70 more, despite being 2 years newer.

I generally feel the values for the iphones I trade in are fair. I was just surprised it was so low on the watch

OP you're better off selling it privately on a site like Swappa or even facebook marketplace. Apple's trade in values for the watch are comically low, even with year over year sales value of the watch being lower than most Apple products.

Watch has the worst trade in value, iPads are next after that. As much as Apple and others will say these devices are #1 in the market they are still a niche segment and the trade in values are representative of this. Being a yearly upgrader for an Apple Watch must be terrible, you might as well just give it to someone you know for as little as they offer.

That's what I was thinking just give it away to a friend or throw it in the drawer with the collection.

I have the titanium Series 6, and my trade-in value isn't very good. I'm tempted by the Ultra, but would probably keep the Series 6 as a secondary watch, since the trade in is so low.

Apple watches have always had poor trade in values compared to many other Apple products. I’m not sure why that is but it may have been answered earlier in the thread.

I’ve preordered the Ultra but I’m in two minds about it due to the size. If I don’t get along with it I may return it for a refund and get a series 8. I currently have a series 5 which works just fine although I don’t think it holds a charge for as long as it use to. Plus it doesn’t support fast charging and the charging puck uses USB A.

I haven’t checked but I doubt it’s worth much. I’m contemplating just holding on to it as a smart dress watch for those occasions the Ultra wouldn’t be appropriate unless I get the series 8.

I was shocked when I noticed Apple was only going to give me 155.00 for my S7 SS. I most likely will sell it somewhere else for more money. 155.00 is highway robbery!

Yes, their offer is a joke. I mentioned cashforyourmac who gave me $270 for my S7 SS. That was enough to prompt me to get the Ultra. Not sure if the offering price is still that high.

Try selling it locally (cash only, no shipping) on Facebook Marketplace. I used it for the first time to sell my AW7 (Product Red) for $290…2 weeks ago. Tip: In this crazy world we now live in….have them meet you at a police station for the transaction…for everyone’s safety. Anyone with ill intentions will balk at the suggestion. Others will appreciate it.

Yes, that's normal. You're trading into Apple who then hands the watch to a wholesaler who then refreshes the watch and sells it on the used market, often overseas.

With two middlemen and a refresh in the process they're not gonna give much for the watch.

Check out other wholesalers or sell it yourself to another individual via Swappa or Facebook Marketplace or similar.
