Trade ins or rebates?

I doubt there's any truth to this but a friend told me that if I bought a new PB today and they updated them in the next month or reduced the price or did something similar, Apple would provide me with a rebate or some sort of compensation. Is that true???

if there is a price change within 7 days of your purchase you will be given the difference of the two sums. nothing spectacular.
