I was wondering if i should trade my 32GB iPad 2 for a 2008 MacBook and they add 50 dollars?? What do you guys think i should do?

Only if the MacBook still has at least a month of applecare left. If not, I wouldn't. Imagine if your newly purchased MacBook stopped working in a week.

Isn't 2008 before the unibody especially for the MacBooks? If so I'd say a strong no. Do your research and see what the going price is on eBay and Craig's list to see how they compare.

Also think of what benefits it provides you over your iPad and whether it is a trade you really want to make in the first place.

great wisdom here... your ipad 2 is work about 550...........plus 50 dollars would be about 600. Honestly i think thats a bit overpriced if the macbook does not have iwork ilife, office Adobe CS5 or soemthing else with it... I just purchased a 2010 macbook with apple care for 2 and a half year more for 644 on ebay. so its wise to not do it unless apple care comes with it.

I believe the op said "they" add $50, assuming that means $550-$50=$500. This makes more sense for a ~3 year old base MacBook.

my mistake..... it does make more sense but at the same time if your going to spend 500 might as well try to find one with apple care on ebay

I still don't think that $500 is worth it unless this baby has a slew of apps and is maxed out in every upgradable area.
