hey guys!

i have the mbp 13" 2010 2.4ghz with the 320m and i have been offered to trade it with a lower end 15" mbp 2010 with no additional cost to me.

seems like a steal but im still thinking about it because of 1 reason.

my mbp has 2 more years of applecare on it and the 15" warranty will expire in half a year from now meaning it doesnt have applecare.

both computers have no hardware failures at the moment.

what would some of you do?

trade, and get the more expensive mbp with not much warranty left or stay with current 13" with 2 more years of applecare?

Thanks!

The real question is if a 15" screen is what you want over a 13" screen. Personally, I prefer the 13" form factor.

i dont take it out much so the size doesnt really matter.

i do take the computer to the living room sometimes but i dont think its much difference going from 13 to 15 but i might be wrong.

i wont be able to get applecare for the 15".

there are no apple stores in the country where i live. theres only a retailer and they wont let you get their applecare for a mac that people brought from overseas.

you can only get applecare if you bought the computer from them.

that 15" came from overseas and my mbp is from here.

so i cant extend the warranty on that other 15"

How long do you plan of keeping it? Are you going to be upgrading anytime soon?

It's a tuff choice. If you don't know the person you're trading with, I'd say keep the 13" cause you don't know how they treated the computer/ if anything's wrong with it...

and if something does go wrong, then it seems you'd be out of luck.
