I know you can take any old iPod, working or not, beat up or not, and trade it in at Apple for 10% off a new iPod...is it possible to get an iPod credit towards an iPad 4 instead of a new iPod?

Obviously they wouldn't do 10% since an iPad is more than the most expensive iPod, but what about some sort of discount on an iPad?

Anyone tried this?

I figure if I go in there and ask them about knocking 10% off the most expensive iPod touch, I could take whatever that dollar value is and then change my mind and say well maybe I'd rather have an iPad, can I apply this to that instead?

Apple doesn't take trade-ins AFAIK with iPads. Sell it on craigslist or gazelle.
