Traditional to Simplified Chinese in Word 2008

I have some RTF files that only display properly in Word; they're written in Traditional Chinese. In Cocoa apps, I could just select the app menu > Services > Chinese Text Converter (or something similar, I'm away from my MacBook at the moment) and select to convert the text into Simplified Chinese, but being that Office:mac is a Carbon app, the menu item is greyed out.

Is there a way to convert Traditional Chinese text to Simplified within Word 2008?

Maybe you can copy it into say your browser and then selecting it and trying the services menu again. Or just try this website

I've thought about that, but it's half Chinese and half-English (it's part of a Chinese course), so the whole process would be really tedious.
