Just kidding about that title.

But it appears that Bono is friends with the "other guy".

My favorite quote:
Asked if their friendship would entice him to buy one of Microsoft rival Apple Computer Inc.'s. . .black-and-red U2 edition iPods, Gates said: "Absolutely not."

It makes me wonder what they talk about or how Bill acts around him.

Anyone who has seen Bill Gates talk or interact will see that Bill G. has absolutely no sense of humor or is a terribly shy person.

It's just uncomfortable to watch Bill G. "perform" because he either is uncomfortable on stage, he doesn't tell jokes well (in the rare event he tries to), and he doesn't seem to get jokes (i.e. his stagetime with Conan O'Brien at CES in Las Vegas).

I don't reckon he seems that bad. I think it's sick how people act around him though. All that bowing and scraping gets on my nerves (metaphorically speaking).

I did watch part of Bill G's keynote at WinHEC 2005 (just out of curiousity).

It was the MOST boring thing I have ever watched.
First, some guy that looked like Steve Balmer with a paste-on mustache came out and talked about odd things conference things like shuttles before Bill G. (why put that in the keynote?)

Then Bill G came out to the most mediorce, pathetic applause I have ever heard (and these are supposed to be Windows-fans). Nothing what like Steve gets at MW or WWDC.

Bill G. had no personality on stage. I guess he wasn't excited because he knew Longhorn will never come out.

Don't confuse how he is in public to how he his in private though...I doubt he's as wooden around people he's comfortable with. At least, I sincerely hope not!

Did you see how he acted around the Queen when he got knighted?
I was so embarrassed.

Who says "Fantastic" to the Queen when you get knighted?

And, she looked just as uncomfortable.

I didn't see that but did watch the CES keynote...it was so unbelievably painful, I hoped Conan got paid a lot!

That is sad..

I am SURE Jobs has purchased something from Microsoft in the past for personal use.

Why is Bill so bitter towards the iPod line. Just because WMP Players don't dominate today, doesn't mean Bill should be bitter!

Oh, I'm sure he has one.
But, he's not going to publicly say what I am sure he thinks, that all players that support WMA suck compared to the iPod. :)

Yeah. The only person I believe when he says he doesn't have an iPod is Ballmer. Not that I trust him more, just no one else is that ignorant.

Ah come on leave the poor guy alone. How many techies do you know who are shy retiring geeks with very few social skills? Exactly!

Ya but Bill G has oodles of money and can buy social skills and tons of friends to kiss his butt.

You can't buy social skills save for taking a Carnegie public speaking class. I believe the guy would be quite animated in a closed, more comfortable setting (cue John Bender from Breakfast Club - "you load up, you party...").

There is nothing wrong with being unhip. But when the unhip try to act slick, that is when problems arise.

re: "fantastic"

Could've been worse... "dynamite."
