Hi

I had an imac. i have just bought and MBP.
Can u plz help me onhow to tranfer my mails and address book to my new comp. Thanks

Address Book allows you to backup it's data through the Backup feature in the File menu. This'll create a file for you to then load into Address Book on the new machine.

You can transfer emails by making a copy of the Mail folder in your Home Library, assuming you're running the same version of OSX (and Mail) on both machines. You might also want com.apple.mail.plist form the Preferences folder.

Alternatively, use Migration Assistant in the Utilities folder and Target Disk Mode. It's a little buggy, but it works well for basic files and data. Don't use it for apps and preferences though. :)
