Tranfering Podcasts Help

So this may seem completely stupid but I would love it if someone could help me.

I downloaded a bunch of podcasts on my iPad when I was out and about and waiting (so bored but I cannot figure out how to transfer them onto my computer. I thought that itunes would just download them automatically when I went into the itunes store like they do with songs and apps but it is not the case.

Does anyone know how to get the podcasts on my computer without downloading them all again?
