transfer app from one iphone to another

If you go into the itunes folder in your computer you can see the app that you have downloaded cant I i just copy the file for example super monkey ball and send it to someone and they put it in there itunes folder would it work on there iphone.

AFAIK - the app store is complete with DRM, so the apps are attached to the store account at this point.
