I doubt Apple would do this, but does anyone know if Apple allows Apple Care to be transferred from a previous generation device to a current generation device? I still have a another 18 months or so left on my Apple Care on my 2G iPhone, which is 6 months past what my warranty would be on my 3G iPhone. Would it be possible to transfer that to the 3G when I get it?

Apple will not let you do this since its a upgraded product. Your gonna have to purchase a new Apple Care.

I understand. The nice thing is if your planning on selling your iPhone, AppleCare is transferrable since it follows the Serial Number. Key selling point to a potential buyer.
Good Luck !

I'm selling it to my girlfriend who cracked the screen on her iPhone last week. So I suppose its a good thing for her. (Side note, what should I charge her for it, I'm thinking about $100. Does that seem fair?)

for the phone ? or just the Apple Care ?

What kind of BF are you if your planning on selling the phone to her instead of giving it to her as a gift from a loving BF.

Just tell her your giving her the iPhone and you went out of your way to purchase the Apple Care for her so she doesnt have to worry so much using it :)

Just wait, good things will come :D

people are still buying and selling phones that are damaged, and some with cracked screens on eBay. She will probably be able to get something for it there.
