iPad mini transfer books from iPad to imac

possible? best way? i restored my iMac and lost all my books that were in ibooks but they're still on my iPad... so want to pull them off iPad.

Start up iTunes, make sure it's set NOT to automatically sync when an iOS device is connected. Also, authorize iTunes with the iTunes account you used to buy your books. Once you've done that, connect your iPad, and do a "transfer purchases." Don't sync, as that would delete the books.

And next time, keep your iTunes media backed up!
